Jesus, My Deliverer

This Sunday the Church will remember the Triumphant Entry of Jesus Christ which led to the final week of His life before the crucifixion.  It was a day when crowds gathered and cheered Jesus' entry into the city of Jerusalem.  They celebrated by waving palm branches which were a symbol of goodness and victory.  They shouted "Hosanna"  which means "Save us now".  They were looking for a deliverer, someone that would free them from the oppression of the Roman government. They did not understand that His kingdom was not a worldly kingdom.

Here's the thing...All these years later I'm still saying Hosanna.  I still need Him to deliver me.  He has paid the price for the forgiveness of sin, and I have received His salvation, but there's more.  He is my deliverer today.

This morning there were several things that weighed on my mind.  Things that needed decisions, conversations that need to be had, and relationships that need to be restored.  In my journal I wrote, "Things for which I need deliverance". I wrote out my list and committed them to prayer.  I know he is able to deliver me.

Psalm 107:6 "Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress."
