What Temple Too Valuable?

The other day I was reflecting on John 11, and encountered the spirit of the Pharisees, and their response to Christ.
"If we allow him to go on like this, soon everyone will believe in him. Then the Roman army will come and destroy both our Temple and our nation.” (John 11:48 NLT)
They were so worried about protecting the temple that they were missing the Messiah.  Reading this made me wonder what temple we value so much that we would try to protect it over allowing the work of God.  I do not think it is too much of a stretch to believe that we can fall victim to the same type of thinking.  We are builders.  God has given us that mark of His image.  We are creators, and we use that gift to glorify God, but at times the work of our hands, hearts, blood, sweat, and tears can become a territorial standoff between what God did yesterday, and what He wants to do today.  No temple erected yesterday is so valuable that I want to miss what God is doing today.  No temple that we will ever build will contain Him.
