A Note To CFC From Pastor Ben

Today is my first day on the job at Christ Fellowship Church.  By "on the job" I mean holed up in my home office texting our church secretary and google chatting with our board chair.  Hurricane Sandy has me staying put today, and I imagine most of you find yourself in similar places.

Last night I was having dinner at my mother's house, which is a weekly habit of our family, when the power went out.  In a blink of the eye the light was gone.  Of course children started screaming, and adults started scurrying for flashlights and candles.  Even now I am sitting in my office writing this expecting that at some point today the power will go out.

This morning, while I read the Bible, I came across these words Jesus spoke, John 12:46, "I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark."

I am reflecting this morning on the priorities of CFC.  Chief among our priorities is bringing the light to those in spiritual darkness.  Should you find yourself in the dark today, remember that we have seen a GREAT LIGHT.
